There has been an international outcry over the disappearance of Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai. Peng accused a former top Chinese leader of sexual assault in a long post on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter. Her allegations blew up, creating a PR problem for the Chinese Communist Party. Now people are suspicious about the propaganda efforts to reassure the public that she’s OK.
