At the recent World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland suggested that the American middle class doesn’t deliver enough global value to merit the high wages earned here at home. But sadly, from Freeland’s perspective anyway, political and social concerns make it very difficult to impose a massive cut in pay for the entier American middle class.
