On the one hand, the tale of the recent agreement compelled on the railroad workers that included zero paid sick days is a story of betrayal of workers by the Democratic Party. But as Railroad Workers United organizer Ron Kaminkow explains, it’s also just the latest chapter in a long story of struggle between railroad workers and the rail companies that have dominated the industry since the Gilded Age.
In this interview Kaminkow explains the “blunders” he feels the railroad workers’ unions made and how those same workers can come together to improve their lot in the future.
